STORMERS flyhalf Willem de Waal looked like a different player against the Lions on Saturday.

Renowned for his prodigious kicking ability, De Waal has often been typecast as a conservative player. Yes, he did kick quite a bit in the opening stages of Saturday's match, but it was noticeable that once the Stormers were nine points behind on the scoreboard, he got into an attacking mode.
