Like countless others in many countries, I suffered a deep personal loss when Paulo Freire died in Sao Paulo, May 2. We admired him for his intellectual brilliance and we loved him for his commitment to life, for his selfless, enduring dedication to sharing knowledge and dreams with the poor and despised of the world.
