Horseshoe pitching is an inexpensive and appropriate game for homesteaders. A horseshoe pit just requires an area where stakes can be driven in the ground 40 feet apart. Tips for playing and scoring are described.
It's hard for me to imagine a more appropriate form of recreation for Countrysiders than pitching horseshoes. Not only is it inexpensive and easy to learn, but it is steeped in the rural tradition which we all hold dear.
I'm not writing to introduce anyone...
