Eight years ago, Jean-Guy Lecat parted ways with the legendary director Peter Brook. At the ripe age of 64, the French scenic designer and theatre-architecture consultant--who, as Brook's technical director and principal designer from 1976 to 2000, was in charge of scouting and transforming more than 200 spaces for Brook's world tours in 165 different cities--decided to strike out on his own.
