Agnes Heller and Ferenc Feher reject the work of Georg Lukacs and others who brought a millennialist, messianic utopianism to their interpretation of Marxism. Messianic Marxism envisions a radical leap forward that transforms society beyond what historical evolution would do. Heller and Feher criticize what they call redemptive utopians, but promote a rational, pluralistic, practical approach to social reorganization.
