Jun. 22--Prices for slaughter cattle and hogs gained on the Omaha Livestock Market last week, the USDA Market News Service said, mirroring a national summertime increase.
Slaughter cattle gained $1 to $2 for the week, averaging $65.50 per 100 pounds for 1,100-1,300-pound steers and $65.13 for 1,000-1,200-pound heifers, the USDA said. Higher prices came at the end of the week's trading.
