OF THE FOUR common subspecies of turkey found in the United States, the Osceola has to be considered the No. 1 trophy simply because there are fewer of them and their territory is the most limited. In looking at the other three first, the range of the eastern wild turkey extends from southern Maine to northern Florida on the east coast and as far west as the eastern parts of Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
