Neurological disease is often mistakenly diagnosed as conversion disorder, making differential diagnosis of conversion disorder very important. Moreover, new theories suggest that conversion disorder may be an early sign of neurological disease, especially when symptoms occur on the left side of the body. Symptoms such as coma, lower extremity paralysis, blindness and seizures need to be evaluated carefully to distinguish between conversion disorder and neurological impairment.
