Odysseus Elytis: in memory of a modern Greek poet.

Modern Greek poet Odysseus Elytis embodied the classical example of an author who infused his works with humanism. The 1979 Nobel Prize for Literature winner featured Greek tradition in his works, most notably the elemental, such as fire, sea, sky, earth and heaven. His works are characterized by intensity, patriotism and love for beauty. The death of Elytis is a loss for all, especially those who have been touched by his poetry.
