If you've helped to put together cafeteria-style meals for hundreds of people, you know what's always waiting afterward. Mountains of dirty dishes get stacked on metal racks. Bowls and pans must be scrubbed, by scouring pad or fingernail. After awhile, if you're a volunteer, your back starts to ache and the temptation is to quit.
