Muscat: A world renowned Swedish explorer is planning an "enormous expedition" covering 7,000 kilometres of desert from Oman to Morocco Ea la 14th century Arabian legend Ibn Batuta.
"My expedition would be even more difficult as Ibn Batuta covered the area along the coast, but I intend to go through the dense desert," Mikael Strandberg, who is on his maiden trip to Oman, said at a press conference on Saturday night at the Al Falaj Hotel.
