The Historic Cities Support Programme of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture has organised a program of remedial work for the village of Baltit in the Hunza Valley of northern Pakistan. The project involves the restoration of a 700-year-old-fort and the re-creation of a sense of community in the village which has fallen into disrepair. The restoration of the fort, which is to be a museum, study center and community center, were handled by engineer Richard Hughes and architect Didier Lefort.
