Ironclad hybrids are rhododendrons which survived the extremely cold winters in New England from 1891 through the early 1900s. These hardy plants come in a range of colors, from white and rose-lilac to royal purple and deep pink. Among the most popular are the 'English Roseum,' 'PJM' and 'Minnetonka.'
