A and E Television Networks will give its new Biography magazine a nationwide launch in April 1997. The cable TV network is basing the periodical on its popular "Biography" TV program. The magazine will include profiles of celebrities, historical leaders and everyday people. The first edition will have 185,000 copies at a price of $2.99 each. Kathy Ely, editor of the Discovery Channel's monthly publication, says her company is curious to see how A and E's magazine fares.
