A glow of bright beacons is to signal the end to a century of cross-border fishing conflict on Lake Victoria now that Kenya and Uganda have agreed to redraw their boundaries. The often acrimonious issue was tackled at a meeting of fisheries ministers from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania at which it was agreed to re-establish frontier lines. In addition, the accord will resolve the disputed ownership of Migingo Island--a barren, one-acre flashpoint for the countries' police forces.
