MARLBORO - As it was during the Civil War, Marlboro and a tiny town in West Virginia are still on opposite sides of the fence when it comes to a bell.
The John Brown Bell, which hung in the firehouse at the federal arsenal in Harpers Ferry, W.Va., (at the time Virginia) when the radical abolitionist and his band of men were captured after a raid on the facility in 1859, has been in Marlboro since 1892.
