Jacopo Tintoretto's three paintings for the S. Margherita parish church in Venice, Italy, were the 'Last Supper,' 'Christ Washing the Apostles' Feet' and the 'Agony in the Garden.' They were intended to adorn the upper wall by the confraternity's 'banco,' an important focus of patronage situated near the Sacrament Chapel. These works were commissioned by the scuola del Sacramento, a confraternity that performed religious and charitable works.
