Lund Food Holdings, Inc., to Acquire Byerly's

MINNEAPOLIS, March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Lunds president Russell T. Lund III (Tres) announced that Lund Food Holdings, Inc., parent company of Lunds Food Stores, signed an agreement to acquire the Byerly's grocery chain from the Minneapolis-based investment firm Goldner Hawn Johnson & Morrison Incorporated and its investment partners. The agreement includes 11 stores operating in metropolitan Minneapolis/Saint Paul and Saint Cloud, Minn. Closing date for the acquisition is anticipated to be on or about April 30, 1997, and will not include the two Byerly's stores in Chicago, ...
