Patient outcomes: standards of perioperative care.

The Association of Operating Room Nurses's perioperative care patient outcome standards expressly interpret the kinds of nursing and medical care results patients are entitled to expect during surgical or other invasive procedures. Achievement of these standards are a perioperative nurse's primary concern. The standards concentrate on desirable outcomes in high-risk situations when the patients' ability to protect themselves may be lessened, such as while under anesthesia.
