Andy Warhol's collection may represent not just the desire for commodity but also other directions, other objects of desire. The critique of two Warhol installations, 'Raid the Icebox' and 'Folk and Funk' clarify this hypothesis. The first presented items from the Rhode Island School of Design museum and were displayed in a haphazard manner. The second were items from his collection and were arranged to present a private space. His collection can also function as a code to unlock the private self that Warhol refused to show, or as items of a closet, or as the closet itself.
