Lockerbie.
For most Syracusans -- most Earthlings, really -- the word conjures one image: the crumpled, white nose of a jetliner at rest on the brown winter grass in a Scotland field.
And for those whose lives intersected with the 270 people (including 35 Syracuse University students) killed when the airplane crashed after a terrorist bomb exploded aboard Pan Am 103, the word stirs one emotion: heartbreak.
But to 4,000 or so Lockardians, the word has just one definition: home.
