The potential impact of foreign policy issues on the outcome of the 1996 US presidential elections is discussed. Pres. Bill Clinton holds an edge over Bob Dole with his accomplishments in a variety of policy issues.

Clinton was able to blunt Bush's political edge in foreign affairs, partly by changing the subject to the economy and partly by pointing out Bush's inability to make the transition to the brand new post-Cold War world.
