Latino movement: a target for harassment?(student movement charges school administrations for deliberate harassment)
|
Members of a Chicano student organization, Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA), accuse school authorities for deliberately harassing them. They also make similar charges against a conservative organization. The charges include arrests, suspension, and procedural delays. The students also cite the suspension of a MECha newspaper at St. Mary's University, Sanantonio, Texas, and harassment of a teacher at a New Mexico high school as instances of harassment.
