What city does (and doesn't) have to host 2008 Olympic Games

If Chicago business leaders decide to pursue a bid for the 2008 Summer Olympics, they can mount one very persuasive argument to support going for the gold: We're not Lillehammer.

More than a dozen professional and collegiate arenas and stadiums, most notably Soldier Field, sit within an hour's drive of O'Hare International Airport alone.

The enlarged McCormick Place convention complex offers more than 2 million square feet of modified-in-a-snap space for everything from gymnastics events to a media center.
