The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) has publically denounced consolidations between state affiliates and other agent organizations. Maine, Idaho and Rhode Island are among the states considering consolidations. PIA leaders voted against further consolidations to prevent organizations from developing monopolies on services for professional agents.

The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents is drawing a line in the sand for those state affiliates looking to consolidate with other agent organizations.
