PARIS.- Marcello Mastroianni tenía 36 años y había actuado ya en 40 películas cuando, en 1960, Federico Fellini le propuso trabajar con él en La dolce vita. Fue Giuletta Massina quien los puso en contacto, casi contra la voluntad de ambos.
Mastroianni quería hacer teatro. Fellini no estaba muy convencido debido al físico de Mastroianni. Pero Giuletta Massina intuyó que Marcello era el actor que necesitaba Federico. Insistió y ganó.
