The North Geronimo mine, Silver district, La Paz County Arizona, produces fine specimens of vanadinite and wulfenite. Vanadinite crystals are blood-red in color showing prismatic habits. The orange-red wulfenite is associated with mimetite. The ores and the associated galena and secondary minerals resulted from epithermal vein mineralization followed by oxidation along the Red Cloud fault during the Tertiary period. The history of mining activity in the area and color photographs of the mine and the crystals are provided.
