A woman reflects on what the term grace meant to her as she matured through life. As a child she was graceless as her short adolescent body refused to do many movements with grace. As she matured she learned what true grace is. Grace is such things as gifts without strings, and joy without conditions.
When I was six, Grace was my favorite ballerina card. Auburn-haired and lithe in an emerald tutu, she had far more spirit than Laura in lavender tulle. I tried - too hard - to acquire Grace's poise.
