Judge Michael Douglas recently was elected a district courtjudge for the state of Nevada.

The 48-year-old judge, who earlier was appointed by Nevada Gov. Bob Miller to complete the term of Judge A.D. Guy, won the election to retain his seat at the eighth judicial district court in Las Vegas, NV, for the next six-year term. Douglas is one of only two Black judges in Nevada.

Prior to his appointment as district court judge, he was deputy district attorney for Clark County in Nevada.
