TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 23, 1996--Altai Resources Inc. (TSE ATI.) -- Altai Resources Inc. (ATI, TSE; US Sec. Rule 12g3-2(b) File No. 82-2950) announces an agreement to establish a strategic alliance with Normandy Mining Limited. Normandy Mining Limited is a major Australian based multinational gold mining company, with base metals and industrial minerals interests, and has a market capitalization in excess of US$2 billion. In the 1996 financial year, Normandy had managed gold production of 1.5 million ounces.
