Radiologic technicians must adjust to the profit-driven managed care industry by improving their education. Managed-care has proved lucrative for the healthcare industry because of its emphasis on cost-control and makes any employee within the system compete on a supply-and-demand basis. Thus, radiographers need to diversify their skills to be more competitive. Further, the pool of radiographers must be reduced by making a bachelor's degree mandatory.
