Temporal lobe epileptic seizures usually include unexpected physical and behavioral changes. Neuroscience nurses need to be aware of the behavioral aspects associated with epilepsy to assist in providing a correct diagnosis and offering treatment options. Nurses who understand the factors that cause this disease can help the patient and family anticipate possible behaviors and become aware that the behaviors' cause is organic rather than a sign of mental illness.
