Nicaraguan business consultant Francisco Lainez believes that the economic policies proposed by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund for Nicaragua may lead to more poverty and economic problems. Policies dictated by these institutions are intended to convert borrowing countries into consumption economies. Lainez thinks that Nicaragua economic dilemma can be reversed through the adoption of belt-tightening measures.
