The US Trustee system is a creation of the Bankruptcy Reform Act of 1978 that allows bankruptcy judges to undertake judicial responsibilities without worrying about administrative concerns. This bureaucratic procedure has been implemented in almost all states. Its reach is extensive and participants in a bankruptcy case, whether it be Chapter 7, 11, 12 or 13, cannot avoid being affected by its regulations.
