Two of Charlotte Ramsay Lennox's novels, 'The Life of Harriet Stuart' and 'Euphemia' describe life in the New World through the eyes of Old World women. Lennox explores motherhood, female friendship, female subjectivity, and the connection between mother and child. The plots of these novels are outlined and feminine themes, such as the reliability of women and endurance of friendship between women, are discussed.
