THE official launch of a path linking Aberdeenshire's coastal communities took place on Tuesday.

The culmination of a four-year project, the Aberdeenshire Coastal Path is part of a wider project to link coastal communities on the fringes of the North Sea.

It aims to offer the opportunity for visitors and locals alike to experience the very best coastal areas of six countries, under the heading of the North Sea Trail.

Walkers can follow in the footsteps of past generations along the trails, and learn how the North Sea has shaped the landscape and lives of people ...
