MONTROSE travelled to Arbroath looking for a fourth win in a row. Unfortunately Arbroath had other ideas and intended to finish their season with a derby win.

Montrose fielded a strong team with only minor changes (Dickson starting at nine and Shakespeare moving to full-back) and were set to make an impression on Arbroath who traditionally have been strong in the forwards with a weaker set of backs.
