Nov. 4--The Outdoor Channel has signed a New York-based company to handle its national advertising efforts - another sign that the Temecula-based cable network is getting serious about growth.

The network's parent company, Global Outdoors Inc. (Nasdaq: GLRS), announced that MediaAmerica will be the company's exclusive national sales representative through the end of 1998. MediaAmerica will be paid solely through commissions and performance bonuses, so there will be no direct effect on the company's bottom line.
