Bull riding-related brain and spinal cord injuries - Louisiana, 1994-1995.

The Louisiana Central Nervous System Injury Registry reported five cases of central nervous system trauma caused by bull riding at rodeo events in 1994-1995. Investigations of these five cases are summarized, and recommendations for the use of protective equipment to lower the risk of brain and spinal cord injuries are presented.
