Today, our main industries are electronics, electro-technics, life sciences and services. Huber + Suhner, a leading global supplier of components for electrical and optical connectivity, is the largest employer in our canton. At its headquarters in Herisau, 950 staff are employed out of a worldwide total of around 3,200.
Furthermore, our canton is renowned for its health services, namely seven private hospitals, the public hospital, Spitalverbund, which employs around 900 people, and many alternative doctor and dental practices.
