Radical democracy: the new left-wing utopia for Latin America.

The Latin American Left does not embrace formal democracy over socialist revolution as many believe, rather it embraces a confused notion of socialism disguised as democracy. The new 'radical democracy' represents a limited view of democracy as a means to a socialist utopia and poses a real threat to the small progresses Latin America has made towards democracy. While the Left should not abandon its quest for equality, it should work towards the goal within a democratic environment.
