PROMINENT feminist June Levine died at the age of 76 yesterday, after suffering a stroke.
The Dublin-born writer passed away in Tallaght Hospital, after falling ill at her home in Ranelagh.
The firebrand had been instrumental in founding the feminist movement in Ireland in the Seventies.
Miss Levines career focused on highlighting the plight of women who had been trapped into prostitution, as well as those who had suffered institutional abuse in Ireland prior to the 1980s.
