ATHENS

GREEK politicians have a word for it: revma, the high-voltage current of enthusiasm that jolts the wavering voter into putting them into power. When the prime minister, Costas Simitis, called a snap election for September 22nd, his advisers believed his Panhellenic Socialist Movement, better known as Pasok, would come back with a surge. But he may need a bit more electricity to be sure of winning his party another four years of power. As the campaign approaches its final week, Mr Simitis is still searching for the on switch.
