The modern buildings in Oslo, Norway's central business district are an incongruity in a city full of old and new buildings set amidst wide streets and generous open spaces. The setting of a major urban redevelopment program in the 1980s, the district has failed to equal the quality of the architecture found in other parts of the capital. It remains to be seen whether this problem can be ameliorated or not.
