Vladimir Nabokov has succeeded in injecting post-war consciousness into his 1955 novel 'Lolita' by interleaving the horrors of history into a narrative about a girl who engaged in an incestuous relationship with her uncle. Although a fictional work, the story contains 'meticulous chronology' and allusions to anti-Semitism, something which Nabokov, who had a Jewish wife, must have experienced while residing in Berlin, Germany.
