The Hungarian bishops were received by Pope Benedict XVI in May 2008 at their five-yearly ad limina visit to the Vatican. The Pope seemed aware of many of Fr. Maga's concerns such as lack of priests and the effects of secularization, with the same symptoms as other Western countries.
