ATLANTA _ Down on the track, they are running 'round and 'round.
Off they track they are running in circles, too.
They are chasing this question: Should Carl Lewis be put on the U.S. men's 4x100 relay team _ at the expense of someone being booted off it _ just so Lewis can have a chance at another gold medal?
My sentiment is exactly that _ sentiment.
And for sentimental reasons alone, yes, by all means, let Carl run.
Would that be violating the rules? Yes. Would that be creating a double standard? Yes.
Do it anyway.
