Three thousand broken pieces of Chinese porcelain was unearthed in Old Mobile, AL. The porcelain pieces came from Jingdezhen, China, and is dated back to the reign of emperor Kangxi from 1662-1722. The site used to be settlement for French traders.

Founded by the French on the Mobile River in 1702, Old Mobile (so named in modern times) was the first real town in what was then the territory of Louisiana.
