The California Grey Leghorn is a disappearing breed of chicken. They never became popular despite their hardiness and good temperament because the breed was never accepted by the American Standard of Perfection. They are good egg layers and deserve to be preserved as a breed.

Why is it that as we grow older many of us like to collect mementos from our childhood? If we can't have the original item, we buy one like it.
