Heavy seas damage chalets.

CHALETS in Whitby were smashed to pieces last Thursday night after heavy seas and a high tide combined to produce some destructive waves.

Seven chalets were badly damaged with another 20 receiving minor damage.

In total there are 110 chalets on the North Promenade during high season.
